There are many ways to say Sex Coaching. In today’s climate we have a situation where if you use the word “sex” some people get very upset. I’ve started using the phrase Erotic Educator, Erotic Coach — I’ve seen others use intimacy coach, love coach, and many other variations. I have a coaching, sex coaching, and sacred sexuality foundation I work from, so let me give you my definition as it applies to what I do and the people I work with.
Who comes to me for sex coaching?
Many of my clients are in a chapter of life that most people don’t talk about — but should. They’re couples in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who have spent decades building careers, raising kids, and holding everything together. Now the kids are older or out of the house, retirement is on the horizon, and for the first time in years they have space to ask: What do we actually want? Who are we together, sexually and intimately, right now?
Some are individuals stepping out of long-term relationships and rediscovering their desires — not the ones they had at 25, but the ones they have today. They want to explore what turns them on, what they value in a partner, and how to build an intimate life on their own terms moving forward.
And some are couples who are still very much in the thick of it — work, kids, schedules, motivation — but know that their intimacy needs attention. They want to carve out real time together, not just do it as a chore or ‘take care of it themselves’. Couples learn to communicate their desires without awkwardness or conflict, and explore their sexuality as a couple in ways they’ve never had the bandwidth to before.
If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a non-medical, non-judgmental, learning and experiential process that helps you create a more fulfilling life and get the results you want. The coaching process helps you define where you are now and get clear on what you want to be different — your goals. Coaches partner with you on your journey, help you create and sustain authenticity, and support you in living your most aligned life. We have no agenda except to assist you on the path you define. Coaching is about assessments and action plans, not diagnosing and treating. The belief at the core of this work is that you already have the answers within you — you just need time, space, and the right tools to access them.
What is Sexology?
Sexology is sexual education — the study of what we think, feel, and do around sexuality. It is the education and lived experience of human sexuality.
So what is Sex Coaching?
Sex coaching is a blend of the two. It focuses on all things sexual: thoughts, feelings, energy, behavior patterns, expression, orgasm, communication, connection, education, health, and relationships. We consider the influences of your community, family, spiritual, religious, and socio-economic environment — while fully honoring your personal desires and free will. Sex coaches use assessments to identify your current situation and clarify your intentions, then create action plans to help you reach your goals. We educate and advocate for your sexual health, well-being, pleasure, and rights — and celebrate your wins along the way.
Sex coaching can help you navigate questions about sexual health and function, pleasure, consent, desire, communication, dating, aging and sexuality, and so much more. You are whole and complete exactly as you are. Sometimes we just need a shift — a new direction, a new conversation, a new experience. That is part of growth at every stage of life.
Why now?
Healthy sexual self-expression is an essential part of individual health, fulfillment, and successful relationships. Many of my clients arrive at a moment when the patterns that served them before are no longer working — or they’ve simply never had the time or permission to explore what they actually want. There is no better time than now to increase your sexual intelligence: to learn more about yourself, your partner, and how you come together to create deeper pleasure and connection.
Sex coaching is an empowering process that gives you permission to learn, explore, and enhance your intimate life in a renewed and positive way. How you are in your relationship shows up everywhere — address it here, and watch the rest of your life open up too.
It is my intention to be compassionate, objective, and fully present — without judgment or agenda — creating a confidential space for exploration and transformation on your terms.
Not sure which professional is right for you?
Sex coaches, therapists, sexologists, tantra practitioners — there are a lot of options when it comes to support for your sexual and intimate life, and it can be hard to know where to start.
I created The Guide to Sexuality Professionals to take the guesswork out of it. It breaks down the different types of practitioners, what each one does, and how to figure out which kind of support fits where you are right now. Whether you’re ready to book or just starting to explore, this is a great first step.
